So I know I’ve mentioned before that we are year-round homeschoolers, but this year we actually became more like typical-9-months-per-year-homeschoolers…but only because I’m 14 weeks pregnant and spent most of July and August feeling tired, nauseated, and unmotivated.
That’s right, the 3-ring-circus is about to add another ring! Wahoo! This little one is due mid-to-late February and so far everything regarding the pregnancy has been going well. With all of my other pregnancies I was given an early ultrasound at 7 or 8 weeks, but this time around there will be no ultrasounds until the big one at 20 weeks. I did get to hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks, which was exciting, but I’m an extremely visual person and not getting even a glimpse of my little bean has been messing with my emotions a bit. I keep imagining that I will walk into my 20 week ultrasound full of excitement and a swollen belly, only to have them inform me I’ve just been eating too much and could benefit from a good colonic.
So of course people will be wondering if we were “trying” for a girl. Truth be told, we weren’t trying at all, but when you don’t do a very good job preventing, I guess it’s hard to say it was a complete shocker. Although to us, still, it was a bit of a shock! Anywho, no we aren’t trying for a girl. A girl would be nice, I think, but I also love the thought of having 4 little boys. So we shall see. My family is all desperately rooting for a girl, but I have to say that my instincts say boy, so I fear they are going to be disappointed.
Either way I feel very blessed to be carrying another sweet little person and I look forward to meeting him or her in February.
And we hope to get back to our schooling endeavors sometime in the next week or two. There are a lot of interruptions when it comes to homeschooling, but then again, I consider those interruptions to be lessons in and of themselves.
